Who am I?

I am the proud mother of three grown children, one teenager, one beautiful baby boy who passed away at 22 weeks prenatally, and a grandma to a very lively girl who goes by the nickname Bread and her baby cousin Jimothy!

From the time I was very young I wanted to be involved in anything that had to do with babies. When I witnessed the birth of my baby sister, at the age of 12, I knew I wanted to be at more births. I was able to be present for the birth of her second baby 27 years later! Prior to that I was with my best friend as she delivered her first baby.

I learned about the role of a birth and postpartum doula and I jumped right in! I took a course with Childbirth Professionals International out of Sacramento, Ca and am in the process of completing courses for prenatal and infant loss through both Stillbirthday and P.A.I.L. I’ve also completed training courses for lactation support through The Healthy Children’s Project. I am a volunteer birth doula at UC Davis once a month and completed their training as well.
